Salon Glow Chicago is a fast-paced, guest-focused salon in the heart of Lincoln Park. We pride ourselves on a warm, professional guest experience from the moment someone walks through our doors, and our Front Desk Coordinator is the face and voice of that experience.
About the Role
As our Front Desk Coordinator, you'll be the first and last point of contact for every guest, in person and by phone. You'll manage our appointment book, keep checkout running smoothly, lead client outreach, operational tasks and help create the polished, welcoming atmosphere Salon Glow is known for.
What You'll Do
- Greet and check in every guest warmly; manage the waiting area experience.
- Manage the appointment book, including booking, confirming, rescheduling, and waitlists in Boulevard.
- Process checkout, payment, and rebooking for every guest.
- Answer phones and respond to booking inquiries, texts, and emails promptly.
- Lead client outreach, including reaching out to book, confirm, and win back guests, including lapsed or former clients.
- Support retail recommendations and product checkout at the front desk.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception and salon.
- Communicate stylist schedule changes, callouts, and running late updates to affected guests.
- Participate in all mandatory team meetings.
What We're Looking For
- Excellent phone etiquette, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
- Comfortable and efficient with scheduling software (Boulevard experience a plus).
- Strong multitasking ability in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment.
- Sound judgment and discretion in handling confidential client and business information.
- A calm, professional demeanor under pressure, including scheduling conflicts or guest concerns.
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods, and occasionally bend, reach, or lift up to 20 lbs.
