Beauty Advisor/Sales Associate

GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE

Beauty Advisors are under the direct supervision of store management. This individual is responsible for providing an excellent experience for Salon Brands customers by determining and/or finding the products that best meet their individual needs, ensure fixtures are fully stocked with merchandise, maintain overall store and salon cleanliness and completing additional assigned tasks. Minimum average hourly requirement of 10 to 20 hours per week required. Flexibility in scheduling to include open, close, and weekend activity is required, as well as working in other Salon Brands locations as needed.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Makes eye contact, smiles, and promptly acknowledges and greets each guest entering the store and follows up to ensure proper assistance is provided

· Offers friendly, knowledgeable and courteous service. Understands that customer service is the top priority and ceases performing tasks when customers are present and in need of assistance

· Determines each guests needs and answers questions concerning products and services. When necessary requests assistance of management to ensure customer’s needs are met

· Recommends additional and complementary products and/or services based on the information by the customer or items already selected for purchase

· Ensures customers are aware of current promotions, events and services available within the store

· Has the ability to serve multiple customers at one time while maintaining composure during busy or peak selling times

· Helps to eliminate and/or reduce potential theft of product by providing exceptional customer service and maintaining awareness of surrounding activity

· Courteously handles sales and ensures that the correct price and discount are applied correctly to each sale

· In between serving customers, ensures merchandising of all products to company standards on shelves and displays

· Executes other operational tasks as directed by management

· Responsible for overall store cleanliness including restrooms, backrooms, sales floor and salon

· Takes the initiative to stay informed regarding new or existing products and is knowledgeable about their ingredients and benefits to better serve customers

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

· High school diploma preferred

· 1 year relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience

· 1 year retail experience required

· Demonstrates a passion for guest service and a competency for selling

· Ability to troubleshoot

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team

· Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

· On a regular basis, requires the ability to walk, reach with hands and arms, stand for a minimum of 3-8 hours, and lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

· On a frequent basis, requires the ability to stoop, kneel and crouch

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $14.00 per hour
