OVERVIEW
We’re growing our retail presence in Los Angeles and S. California and looking for an Area Manager to lead their home Salomon store while overseeing up to 4–5 additional Salomon stores in our L.A. epicenter.
As Area Manager, you’ll bring the Salomon brand to life across multiple locations through exceptional customer experience, operational excellence, and community engagement.

The Area Manager provides the highest level of customer experience and delivers the brand vision, mentoring Store Managers and their teams in both personal and career development.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily:
Leadership
Motivate and inspire their multi-store team and Store Managers through a clear, authentic brand vision
Manage their home store’s people, operations, finance, and customer records to deliver consistently high-performing results and oversee reporting Store Manager’s scorecards
Create development plans for high-potential talent and performance improvement plans where needed
Act as a change leader, ensuring new initiatives, standards, and brand strategies are embraced and executed across all stores
Works closely with VP Retail and cross-functional business partners to advance retail strategic goals and objectives
Customer Experience
Ensure all stores deliver the highest level of customer service, whether in self-service or full-service settings.
Be a visible leader in their home store and on visits to other stores, modeling approachable, knowledgeable, and service-driven behaviors
Cultivate a culture of approachability, helpfulness, and brand knowledge across all customer interactions
Operations
Partner with the Vice President, Retail– North America to deliver operational best practices
Oversee safety and compliance with all health standards
Create effective schedules that support peak times and promotional events
Ensure company policies and visual standards are understood and adopted across the New York epicenter and best practices are identified, shared, and consistently executed across all New York stores
Sales and Finance
Own the P&L for all assigned stores, achieving sales and KPI targets
Monitor sales trends and performance data to inform strategy and decision-making on promotions, pricing, and allocations
Manage labor productivity and payroll at their home store and oversee staffing efficiency across the district
Collaborate with Store Managers on annual calendars, promotions, and product focus
Provide regular performance reports and ad-hoc business analysis to the Home Office, offering insights and recommendations to improve results
Recruitment, Training, and Development
Recruit and onboard Store Managers, Assistant Store Managers, and other key roles as needed
Deliver onboarding and ongoing product and service training, tailored for the unique store experiences
Mentor Store Managers to build strong in-store teams and identify future leaders
Foster knowledge sharing and collaboration between store teams

8 years of progressive retail management experience, including experience as a Store Manager; multi-store oversight strongly preferred.
Proven success in managing both store-level operations and multi-store business performance.
Strong financial and analytical skills, with demonstrated P&L ownership.
Excellent organizational and communication skills; ability to balance hands-on leadership in-store with broader area responsibilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and retail systems; experience with tools like Power BI a plus.
Enthusiasm for outdoor, active, and lifestyle products.
Adaptability to blended service models and dynamic retail environments.
AVAILABILITY EXPECTATIONS
General Availability:
Employees must be adaptable to the business's evolving needs. The Area Manager, in collaboration with the Vice President, Retail – North America, will determine availability requirements. This schedule may include various shifts such as mornings, evenings, and weekends.
Peak Period Availability:
Black Friday: All employees are expected to be available to work on Black Friday (the day after US Thanksgiving).
Holiday Season: Availability is required from the second week of December until the end of the holiday season. The exact end date will be determined annually, based in part on the period during which guests can return holiday merchandise.
Role Accountability: Fully accountable for North Beverly Store Manager responsibilities as well as Area Manager oversight, with potential to perform other duties as needed
Hours: Full Time 40 hours per week
Travel: Up to 50%
