- New York State ELA or Reading Certification (Reading Preferred)
- Minimum of three-five years of classroom teaching experience is preferred

- Provides direct instruction to students identified as eligible for Math & ELA services at Tiers II and III, in individual, small group, and/or full classroom settings; push-in support for Tier I;
- Uses identified needs to guide the learning process toward student achievement of district's NYS standards. Designs lesson plans based on NYS Standards and formal/informal assessment data to establishe clear objectives for all lessons obtained from students;
- Uses a variety of instructional techniques and materials consistent with content standards and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved;
- Creates a classroom environment and utilizes research-based strategies that are conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students;
- Maintains accurate, complete and correct records as required by law, district policy, administrative guidelines or specific program requirements; including anecdotal notes to drive instruction;
- Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct, and, for the classroom, develop reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner;
- Conduct or participates in parent conferences and telephone conferences;
- Prepares program reports as required by MTSS;
- Collaborates regularly with Admin and MTSS Review team to schedule MTSS groups based upon baseline and program monitoring data;
- Conducts assessments to identify those eligible for intervention services, to plan instruction to monitor progress and/or to assist staff members in learning various assessment techniques. Assess and record the growth/achievement of students on a regular basis anecdotally or formally and provide progress reports as required;
- Provides consultant/collaborative services in conjunction with instructional support staff to teachers, model "best" instructional practices, and team teach as appropriate to support individuals or groups of students in learning or transferring effective strategies;
- Creates daily lesson plans that are engaging, educational and exciting for the students; encouraging them to want to come to school;
- Delivers lesson plans in a way that intentionally encourages participation and engages students; keeps them focused and excited about learning;
- Plans and delivers lesson plans using instructional techniques such as: modeling, guided practices, inquiry, notice & name;
- Participates in job-embedded professional growth that includes discussion of current research, examination of student work and performance data, goal setting and reflection on practice to improve instructional effectiveness;
- Collaborates with staff to develop instructional techniques and create classroom environments that align with the State Standards;
- Provides consultative/collaborative services to students identified as eligible for math services at Tiers I, II and III, in individual, small group and/or full classroom settings;
- Strives to be reflective and participate in Professional Development to increase professional knowledge and expertise to improve learning and teaching;
- Other duties as assigned by the Principal or Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction.
