Salmon Falls Nursery & Landscaping is looking for an experienced Diesel Mechanic / Fleet Technician to oversee the maintenance and repair of our trucks, trailers, and landscape equipment.

This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in keeping equipment reliable, organized, and operating safely. The right candidate will be comfortable working independently in a small-shop environment while also coordinating outsourced repairs, managing preventative maintenance schedules, and helping keep the entire operation running efficiently.

What Youll Work On

Our fleet includes:

• Heavy-duty and medium-duty trucks
• Pickup trucks & trailers
• Landscape and construction equipment
• Small engines & compact equipment
• Skid steers, mini excavators, mowers, and more

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, trucks, and equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled service
• Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, brake, and exhaust systems
• Manage fleet inspections and maintenance records
• Coordinate outsourced repairs and vendor relationships when needed
• Identify potential issues before they become costly breakdowns
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment
• Prioritize repairs to keep crews operating efficiently

What Were Looking For

• Experience as a Diesel Mechanic, Fleet Technician, or Heavy Equipment Mechanic
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting ability
• Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
• Organized and dependable with strong time-management skills
• Preventative mindset proactive rather than reactive
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Basic computer or fleet software experience is a plus
• Valid drivers license required (CDL preferred)
• Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in varying shop/weather conditions
