Salmon Brook Veterinary Hospital is seeking a full time or part time Veterinary Pharmacy Technician/s to join our busy team. This crucial role will support our patients by ensuring accurate medication preparation, efficient prescription processing, and providing consistent inventory management. This position will work closely with our veterinarians, technicians, and support staff to maintain safe, compliant, and effective pharmaceutical operations for both hospitalized patients and medication refill needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Medication Preparation: Accurately prepare and dispense medication for hospitalized patients and outpatient prescription refills
- Refill Processing: Monitor the pharmacy refill line and email to fulfill medication refill requests in a timely and compliant manner
- Labeling and Documentation: Ensure all medications are properly labeled, documented, and dispensed according to hospital protocols and state regulatory standards
- Workflow Support: Assist with maintaining an efficient, organized, and safe pharmacy environment
Qualifications:
- Experience as a veterinary technician or veterinary pharmacy technician is a must
- Familiarity with types of medications, dosing, and medical terminology
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective communication
- Self-starter
- Ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced hospital, multitasking and prioritizing
- Knowledge of computers and experience with Ezyvet is ideal
