Housekeeping Director for Nursing Home

We’re looking for a caring and capable Housekeeping and Laundry Director to lead our environmental services team in creating a clean, safe, and welcoming home for our residents. In this full-time role, you’ll oversee housekeeping and laundry operations to ensure every resident lives in a comfortable, sanitary environment that supports their dignity and well-being.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support a 15-20 person housekeeping and laundry team with kindness and clear direction.

• Create and maintain effective cleaning and laundry schedules that keep resident rooms, common areas, and the entire facility fresh and hygienic.

• Oversee all laundry services, ensuring linens and personal items are handled with care and returned promptly.

• Train, coach, and develop team members to deliver consistent, high-quality service.

• Work closely with the Administrator to meet residents’ needs and maintain regulatory compliance.

• Manage supplies, budget, and equipment while keeping safety and infection control standards front and center.

• Conduct regular rounds and inspections to uphold the highest cleanliness standards.

• Address resident and family feedback with warmth and responsiveness.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; further education in hospitality or management is a plus.

• 3 years of housekeeping or environmental services management experience, ideally in a nursing home or healthcare setting.

• Strong leadership skills with a genuine desire to support and develop a team.

• Knowledge of laundry operations, and long-term care regulations.

• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.

• Ability to work flexible hours, including some weekends and holidays.

• Must pass all required background checks and health screenings for Connecticut nursing homes.
