We’re looking for a caring and capable Housekeeping and Laundry Director to lead our environmental services team in creating a clean, safe, and welcoming home for our residents. In this full-time role, you’ll oversee housekeeping and laundry operations to ensure every resident lives in a comfortable, sanitary environment that supports their dignity and well-being.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support a 15-20 person housekeeping and laundry team with kindness and clear direction.
Create and maintain effective cleaning and laundry schedules that keep resident rooms, common areas, and the entire facility fresh and hygienic.
Oversee all laundry services, ensuring linens and personal items are handled with care and returned promptly.
Train, coach, and develop team members to deliver consistent, high-quality service.
Work closely with the Administrator to meet residents’ needs and maintain regulatory compliance.
Manage supplies, budget, and equipment while keeping safety and infection control standards front and center.
Conduct regular rounds and inspections to uphold the highest cleanliness standards.
Address resident and family feedback with warmth and responsiveness.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; further education in hospitality or management is a plus.
3 years of housekeeping or environmental services management experience, ideally in a nursing home or healthcare setting.
Strong leadership skills with a genuine desire to support and develop a team.
Knowledge of laundry operations, and long-term care regulations.
Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
Ability to work flexible hours, including some weekends and holidays.
Must pass all required background checks and health screenings for Connecticut nursing homes.
