Job Description
POSITION TITLE: Teacher Assistant
LOCATION: Liberty Elementary
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
- Experience working with children in an educational setting is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively with the Teacher.
REPORTS TO: Principal
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist the Teacher in preparing and organizing instructional materials, including but not limited to lesson plans, worksheets, and visual aids.
Provide individualized and small-group instruction to students under the direction of the Teacher, adapting materials and activities to meet students' needs.
Help to implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans as directed by the Teacher.
Support the Teacher in maintaining a neat, orderly, and safe classroom environment.
Assist with classroom management and student discipline, following the Teacher’s guidelines.
Monitor student progress and assist the Teacher in collecting data on student performance.
Provide support during transitions, assemblies, field trips, and other school activities.
Tutor students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning and provide additional support.
Assist the Teacher in communicating with parents through notes, phone calls, or conferences.
Operate and assist students with technology and instructional equipment.
Attend relevant meetings and professional development sessions as required.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Teacher or Principal.

Regular Requirements:

Visual Requirements: Close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, ability to adjust focus
