About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive, and technically capable Shopify eCommerce Specialist to manage, optimize, and maintain our Shopify website. This role will be responsible for ensuring our online store delivers an accurate, engaging, and seamless shopping experience while supporting the company's sales, marketing, product, and operational objectives.
The Shopify eCommerce Specialist will serve as the primary internal point of contact for Shopify website updates, functionality, troubleshooting, and ongoing improvements. This position will work closely with the Creative Director, CPO, Marketing Director, Order Center Manager, Product Management, Warehouse Operations, and other cross-functional teams to ensure website content, promotions, product information, and customer-facing experiences are accurate and up to date.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, resourceful, and comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced eCommerce environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, maintain, and optimize the company's Shopify website to support evolving business needs and eCommerce goals.
- Create, update, and maintain visually appealing, user-friendly website pages and content within Shopify.
- Use HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other web technologies as needed to support website updates and enhancements.
- Ensure website functionality and user experience are optimized across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
- Monitor website performance and proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues that may affect functionality, customer experience, or conversions.
- Maintain and support Shopify apps, integrations, and website features to ensure reliable performance.
- Research and recommend new Shopify features, applications, tools, and eCommerce trends that may improve website performance, usability, or customer experience, with approval from management.
Website Content & Product Management
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date product information, pricing, images, links, collections, tags, metafields, and other website content.
- Create, optimize, and maintain product listings, collections, landing pages, navigation, menus, and other content with SEO and customer experience in mind.
- Ensure product availability and inventory presentation are accurately reflected on the website.
- Conduct routine website audits to identify opportunities to improve functionality, navigation, content, SEO, accessibility, and overall user experience.
Promotions, Campaigns & Website Updates
- Manage recurring website updates, including homepage banners, promotional content, discount and coupon codes, landing pages, featured collections, and other scheduled changes.
- Coordinate with Marketing and other departments to support promotional campaigns, product launches, sales initiatives, and digital marketing efforts.
- Ensure scheduled promotions, sales, product launches, and website updates are accurately configured, thoroughly tested, approved, and launched on time.
- Test discount codes, links, pricing, product availability, images, copy, and website functionality before promotions and updates go live.
- Proactively communicate missing information, technical issues, or other potential obstacles that could delay a project, promotion, or product launch.
Analytics, SEO & eCommerce Optimization
- Monitor website analytics, customer behavior, conversion performance, site search activity, and other relevant eCommerce metrics.
- Use data and performance insights to identify opportunities for improving website usability, engagement, and conversion rates.
- Optimize website content and structure to support search engine visibility and SEO performance.
- Support ongoing improvements to website speed, scalability, accessibility, security, SEO, and overall user experience.
- Stay informed on Shopify capabilities, eCommerce best practices, website design trends, and emerging technologies.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Quality Assurance
- Collaborate with management and cross-functional teams to implement website enhancements and support company objectives.
- Work closely with Product Management, Warehouse Operations, Marketing, and other departments to ensure website content, product information, inventory presentation, and customer-facing information remain accurate.
- Maintain high website quality standards through ongoing testing, quality assurance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
- Document website updates, changes, processes, and procedures as needed.
- Serve as the primary internal resource for Shopify-related questions, updates, functionality, and troubleshooting.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience managing and maintaining a Shopify or Shopify Plus eCommerce website.
- Strong understanding of eCommerce website management, content management, and online merchandising.
- Experience working with Shopify themes, apps, integrations, and website functionality.
- Working knowledge of HTML and CSS; experience with JavaScript or other web technologies is a plus.
- Understanding of SEO principles and best practices for eCommerce websites.
- Experience with website analytics and eCommerce performance metrics.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and quality.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while meeting deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Proactive approach to identifying and communicating potential issues before they impact customers, sales, or launches.
