The Director of Human Resources works under the supervision of and in collaboration with the SKC President as a strategic partner to the Executive Council. The position goes beyond standard personnel operations to design and lead capacity development pipelines, build retention strategies, oversee institutional culture, create succession plans, and align people, personnel operations, and organizational goals.
Deeply anchored in SKC's Mission, Vision, Core Values (Integrity, Respect, Reciprocity, Relationships, Equity & Equality), and Ways of Being, the Director approaches human resources through relational leadership, transparency, and beliefs that inspire well-being. The role treats employees as core strategic assets to be nurtured and developed, empowering staff and faculty to support quality educational opportunities for American Indian students while perpetuating the cultures of the Séliš, Ksanka, and Ql¿ispé peoples, as well as all others who contribute to SKC's campus community.
Qualifications: Candidates may qualify for the position through one of the following progressive pathways. Salary and placement within the organization's salary schedule will be aligned with the candidate's entering educational level and years of verified experience related to any combination including but not limited to the following: Human Resources, organizational culture, tribal administration, education, business, communication, and/or leadership. Selected candidates will be eligible for salary increases per the salary scale as additional education is attained.
Pathway A (Associate's Degree Equivalent): Associate's Degree in combined with extensive, proven leadership experience (6 years) -- $66,962 - $78,605
Pathway B (Bachelor's Degree): Bachelor's degree and limited to moderate HR leadership experience (3 years) -- $66,962 - $78,605
Pathway C (Master's Degree): Master's degree with relevant experience -- $66,962 - $78,605
