JOB PURPOSE:
The Wastewater/Water Technician & Facilities Support is committed to the mission of Salisbury Christian School and to the students and families we serve. This role is responsible for the safe, efficient, and regulatory-compliant operation of the school's wastewater treatment plant and water systems, ensuring all monitoring, reporting, and maintenance functions meet applicable standards. As a contributing member of the broader facilities team, this role also assists with general facilities maintenance, cleaning, and campus upkeep in support of the school's daily operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION
Facilities Functions

Water/Wastewater Functions
- Perform testing, operations, and necessary routine cleanings pertaining to school wastewater and water treatment;
- Create and execute all preventative maintenance on school wastewater plant and water plant;
- Obtain necessary licenses from the Maryland Department of Environment and complete necessary continuing education requirements to maintain licensure;
- Demonstrate scheduling flexibility and a willingness to respond to water and wastewater related alerts and or take necessary trainings/classes on evenings and weekends, when necessary;
- Display initiative in supporting general school maintenance and facilities tasks as schedule allows and directed by the administration;
- Embrace and reflect the mission, vision, and foundational beliefs of SCS in all communications and conduct, representing the school professionally to its constituency and the general public;
- Cultivate meaningful relationships with students, staff, and families, motivating students to accept God’s gift of salvation and helping them grow in their faith;
- Demonstrate initiative, a strong work ethic, and consistent follow-through on all projects;
- Keep the Administration informed of any known serious issues that may impact the school;
- Address conflict with students, parents, staff, and Administration respectfully and privately, according to the Matthew 18 principle;
- Know and follow all procedures for emergency situations, exercising sound judgement.
SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:
- Supervise extracurricular activities, organizations, and outings as assigned;
- Utilize educational opportunities and evaluation processes for professional growth;
- Provide input and constructive recommendations for administrative and managerial functions in the school;
- Support the broader program of the school by attending extracurricular activities when possible;
- Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the Administration.

EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- High school diploma;
- Wastewater 3A Operator-in-Training (OIT) License and Water 3 Operator-in-Training (OIT) License or eligibility for such licensure.
- Withstand a variety of indoor and outdoor environmental conditions;
- Sit and stand for extended periods of time;
- Lift and move up to 50 pounds;
- Frequently move about inside campus buildings and outside on the grounds;
- Exhibit manual dexterity to enter data into a computer;
- Possess close vision, distance vision, and depth perception;
- See and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids;
- Stand, reach, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl;
- Hear and understand speech at normal classroom levels;
- Speak in audible tones so as to be understood clearly in normal classrooms.
