About the Role
We’re looking for a high-energy, enthusiastic Assistant Swim Coach to work with swimmers of various ages and abilities in a positive, challenging, and fun training environment. The ideal candidate has a background in competitive swimming, strong communication skills, and a passion for youth development through sport. Be available for weeknight and weekend practices and competitions (Practice schedule: Monday-Friday 4-8pm; Saturday 8am-12pm, unless there is a swim meet).
Responsibilities
- Assist in leading swim practices for groups of up to 30 swimmers.
- Teach stroke technique, starts, turns, and race strategies using progression-based coaching.
- Create an engaging and safe environment that supports learning and team culture.
- Collaborate with the head coach and staff to ensure consistency across training groups.
- Support swimmers at meets and team events.
- Be available for weeknight and weekend practices and competitions.
Qualifications
- Background in competitive swimming (high school level or above required; collegiate or club experience preferred).
- Coaching experience in swimming or prior experience instructing athletes in a swim setting preferred.
- Able to work positively with children of all ages and skill levels.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Current CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguard certifications (or willingness to obtain).
- Must complete USA Swimming coaching requirements after hire
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Successful completion of a background check required.
