Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Solid Waste Technician and plan and participate in activities concerned with study, development, and inspection of solid waste systems, including landfills, transfer stations, and household hazardous waste collection facilities. Operates heavy equipment to perform repairs and maintenance at landfill facilities. Performs regular inspections of solid waste operations and sites to ensure proper operations and environmental conditions. Inspects, monitors, and repairs liner systems, leachate collection systems, sedimentation and detention ponds, storm water run-off systems, drainage ditches, groundwater sampling wells, landfill gas wells and probes, and water re-injection systems. Inspects facilities to maintain permit compliance; conducts winterization inspections and repairs in preparation for winterization. Inspects contractor’s work during construction to ensure compliance with approved plans and specifications; performs final inspection of construction and recommends approval for payments or prepares the list of items to be corrected before approval.

Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with proven experience operating heavy equipment.

Pay: $32.97 - $42.20 per hour
