The Pharmacy Data Analytics and Outcomes Coordinator supports pharmacy leadership in analyzing pharmacy-related data to enhance the quality, efficiency, and outcomes of pharmacy services. This role involves supporting data-driven strategies to optimize medication use, improve patient outcomes, and inform decision-making processes within the pharmacy department. The coordinator analyzes data across various pharmacy settings, assisting other departments with data for quality measurements, billing, research, and hospital operations.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Execute comprehensive data analytics across the pharmacy enterprise, encompassing inpatient, ambulatory, oncology, retail, and specialty pharmacy operations
- Develop sophisticated reporting solutions and interactive dashboards to illuminate key performance trends and operational metrics
- Transform complex data sets into actionable items to guide pharmacy strategic initiatives
- Leverage automated dispensing cabinet (ADC) systems to optimize data extraction and analysis methodologies
Outcomes Management
- Conduct analyses of pharmacy interventions to quantify clinical outcomes and financial impact
- Develop metrics and monitoring systems to evaluate medication therapy effectiveness
- Design educational initiatives to promote evidence-based medication utilization
- Maintain comprehensive drug information systems and formulary databases
Process Improvement
- Identify operational inefficiencies through systematic data analysis
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance medication safety and workflow optimization
- Contribute analytical expertise to quality improvement projects
- Analyze contract performance and identify cost optimization opportunities
Biostatistical Analysis and Research
- Apply statistical methodologies to support clinical research initiatives
- Ensure methodological rigor in study design and data analysis
- Contribute to scholarly publications and professional presentations
- Validate data integrity across research projects
Pharmacy Pricing and 340b Analysis
Operational and Financial Analysis
- Conduct operational, financial, and compliance data analysis to optimize hospital participation in the 340B Drug Pricing Program
- Develop and maintain WAC Purchase Tracking Log systems for rebate readiness
- Perform ROI analysis of contract pharmacy relationships using third party administration (TPA) data
- Analyze retail pharmacy utilization patterns to identify growth opportunities
Data Integration and System Management:
- Simulate rebate claims and assess data completeness from electronic health records (EHR) and TPA data feeds
- Assist in EHR and TPA integration for 340B rebate processing
- Support current operations and future readiness for rebate-based models
Rebate Processing and Reconciliation:
- Generate, validate, and submit rebate files through manufacturer portals
- Reconcile rebate receipts with WAC drug transactions and support financial reporting
- Ensure revenue integrity through charge capture analysis
Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
- Build dashboards and visual reports to track rebate eligibility and program performance
- Monitor and optimize 340B program metrics for compliance and financial benefit
- Generate comprehensive performance reports to support strategic decision-making
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an ACPE-accredited institution or Bachelor's degree in the following: Information Technology, Business Management, Finance, Accounting, or Hospital Administration required. Master's degree in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field preferred.
Licensure/Certifications: Current California Registered Pharmacist license (RPH) required. Certifications in Epic preferred (Clarity, Caboodle, Clinical Data Model). Apexus 340b University Certificate preferred.
Experience: Completion of a PGY2 pharmacy residency in Informatics, or three (3) years of experience in data analytics within a pharmacy setting preferred. Experience managing and analyzing data across different pharmacy settings preferred.
Pay Range: The hourly rate for this position is $83.86 - $104.83. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the target for new hire salaries for this position.
