Department: Sleep Center Works under the supervision of the Sr. Administrative Director/ Cardiopulmonary Services or designee, Supervisor and upon the orders of a physician. Performs technically high-quality PSG testing as outlined in the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM). Performs CPAP/BIPAP/ASV/AVAP titrations. Maintains sleep apnea and titration logs during tests. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient. Performs non-invasive polysomnography using 16 or more channels. Correctly and accurately places PSG monitors (EMG, EKG, EEG, Oximeter, nasal and oral thermistors, leg leads, upper airway sensor, respiratory belts, and other monitors needed). Sets up CPAP/BIPAP/ASV/AVAPS ; administers oxygen therapy as necessary. Charts all patient events, behaviors, and information. Uses Hospital EPIC/ Meditech computer system. Performs preventative maintenance, calibration, minor repairs, cleaning, and disinfecting equipment. Performs related duties, such as, stocking supplies, clerical duties, satisfying telephone and other staff inquiries. Stays current on sleep literature and new technologies. Performs other duties as assigned. Education: Graduate from an American Medical Association (AMA) accredited Respiratory Care Program required or successful completion of training in polysomnography with registration achieved. Licensure: Current California State Polysomnographic Technologist license or California Respiratory Care Practitioners license required. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) through the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) required. Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) through the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologist required. Current BLS/Healthcare Provider status as per American Heart Association standards required. 3. Experience: One (1) year experience in Sleep Medicine Center or EEG preferred. Pay Range: The hourly rate for this position is $49.04 - $61.29. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the target for new hire salaries for this position.
