POSITION SUMMARY
Position Summary:
Under the direction and supervision of the professional nurse in charge, the specialty technician assists the nurses in providing quality patient care and informs the nurse about any significant changes. This includes taking vital signs, transporting patients, and helping the professional nurse with interventions. The specialty technician also interacts with other departments, performs cleaning and restocking of supplies, all under the direction of the professional nurse.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education
High school graduate or GED
Successful completion of a healthcare certification or training program (e.g., C.N.A., SRHC Spec Tech University, foundations course in nursing school, EMT training course, etc.), or 3 years of nurse assistant experience in lieu of education.
Minimum Experience
One year nurse assisting experience preferred
Required Registration/License/Certification
Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA)
Basic Life Support certification from either American Red Cross CPR/AED for Health Care Provider or Basic Life Support (American Heart Association-Health Care Provider) successfully obtained within the first 90 days of employment
