What are the responsibilities and job description for the Roofing Estimator position at Salient Roofing Group?
Some people look at a roof and see a headache. You look at a roof and see measurements, transitions, drainage issues, weak points, and labor hours.
You’re the person who can look at a spec sheet, a set of photos, or an EagleView and immediately understand what the roof needs — and what it will cost.
Salient Roofing Group is hiring a Roofing Estimator who wants to be the technical backbone behind our service, maintenance, and reroofing operations.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Estimate repairs, leak investigations, and service work
- Build budgets and proposals for commercial reroofs
- Estimate residential replacements and specialty systems
- Perform takeoffs in Express Estimating, PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or similar
- Review scopes, drawings, specs, RFQs, and field notes
- Work with sales & operations to ensure jobs are priced clean, clear, and correct
- Identify risks, catch details, and protect margins
WHAT YOU BRING
- REAL experience estimating hundreds of roofing jobs
- Strong understanding of flat sloped roofing systems
- Ability to interpret everything from plan sets → drone footage → measurements
- Experience with Express Estimating or comparable programs
- Knowledge of roofing assemblies, fasteners, penetrations, transitions, codes
- High accuracy and attention to detail
