Definition: Under the general supervision performs the clerical, typing, and computational duties necessary to maintain and process accurate attendance records, to prepare necessary reports and to perform a variety of general secretarial and clerical duties.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Maintains and audits monthly attendance reports.
• Maintains records of enrollment and placement of students to programs in the school.
• Distributes, collects, and audits monthly attendance records for programs in the county.
• Informs teachers and districts on attendance procedures and gives inservice instruction as needed.
• Types materials and reports as necessary.
• Verifies attendance days.
• Composes letters concerning changes in attendance accounting to teachers four times yearly and completes needed state reports.
• Verifies attendance days and prepares average daily attendance reports, ADA for state and audit enrollment reports.
• Operates a typewriter, calculator, computer and other office equipment as necessary.
• Sorts, files documents and retrieves information as required.
• Carries out a variety of office tasks as required to expedite office procedures.
• May sort and distribute mail and other materials for distribution.
• May act as receptionist.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of:
• Office practices and procedures.
• Bookkeeping practices and procedures.
• Proper English usage.
Ability to:
• Analyze data and prepare accurate records and reports.
• Meets deadlines.
• Makes arithmetical calculations rapidly and accurately.
• Understand and carry out oral and written directions.
• Operate necessary office machines.
• Type 40 words per minute.
• Maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
• Perform routine secretarial work.
EXPERIENCE and EDUCATION:
• High school graduate.
• 2 Years experience
