The Territory Manager is responsible for selling SMP Brands products to retail customers as well as executing the retail merchandising plan. He/she is the first SMP point of contact at retail and the frontline point of contact for our Brand partners in their perspective territories. The Territory Manager reports to the Dierector of Sales at SMP.
· Conduct in person store visits to execute sales, implement promotions, improve merchandising, improve and enhance shelf placement and gather feedback.
· Drive sales and market share through existing and new customers by expanding SKU counts and increasing brand awareness.
· Present the features and benefits of all products to store owners, staff, and consumers.
· Conduct product training for store personnel.
· Identify and open new accounts.
· Be an expert on all SMP product lines.
· Report daily sales activity.
· Represent SMP Brands at regional consumer events.
· Perform product demonstrations at local stores.
· Manage trade spending.
· Work with distributor sales teams to grow sales together.
· 1-2 years of Pet Industry experience. On the road selling experience a plus
· Must have a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office
· Professional appearance, organizational & communication skills
· Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment where goals are aggressive, and quality of service are key.
· Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
· Regional travel up to 50-70% required.
