Distinguishing Feature: This position is designed to allow the practitioner to focus 100% on the evaluation process and team consultation; there is no counseling caseload or direct therapeutic intervention assigned to this role.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Comprehensive Assessment: Administer, score, and interpret a full battery of psychological and academic achievement assessments for initial and triennial evaluations.
- Data Synthesis: Analyze complex data sets from multiple sources, including cognitive, executive functioning, and behavioral metrics, to identify student strengths and needs.
- Expert Report Writing: Produce high quality and parent friendly psycho educational reports within state and federal timelines.
- Eligibility & Placement: Serve as the primary subject matter expert during Eligibility and IEP meetings to explain the relationship between data and NH state disability categories.
- Collaborative Consultation: Partner with General Education and Special Education teams to interpret data and recommend evidence based instructional strategies.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all evaluation processes strictly adhere to IDEA and NH ED 1100 standards.
- Education: Specialist level (Ed.S. or CAGS) or master's degree in School Psychology from a NASP approved program.
- NH Certification: Must hold (or be eligible for) NHDOE Endorsement #0046 (School Psychologist).
- National Certification: NCSP (Nationally Certified School Psychologist) status is highly preferred and accepted for NH certification reciprocity.
- Expertise in developmental milestones and the identification of Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD), OHI, and ASD.
- Ability to translate clinical jargon into actionable classroom interventions for teachers.
- Strong organizational skills to manage a steady evaluation caseload without the distraction of crisis intervention or counseling.
