What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Counselor position at Salem School District?
Elementary School Counselor: Experience working with elementary school aged children preferred.
- Conducts classroom guidance lessons.
- Assist students with academic, emotional, social and behavioral issues
- Provides individual counseling and check-ins.
- Creates and facilitates small group counseling groups in response to students' needs and or conflict resolution.
- Collaborate with parents/guardians, teachers, support staff, administration, and any local agencies which might be of assistance to the students.
- Teaches social skills groups.
- Responsible for 504 plans.
- Strong communication and documentation skills
