Position: Per Diem Nurse Technician
Department: Nursing Pool
Shift: Various Available
PURPOSE
- The role of the nurse tech is that of the PCA but expanded to include critical thinking, delegation, communication, and relationships with the health care team
- The role of the nurse is that of a mentor. The nurse will seek out the nurse tech when doing treatments or any procedure that would benefit the nurse tech to observe. Serves as a resource for the nurse tech to answer questions
- The role of the OD department is to provide the classroom orientation
- The role of the unit manager is to interview, manage, monitor, schedule
QUALIFICATIONS
- BSN Program-Must have completed the physical assessment course
- ADN and Diploma- Must have completed the physical assessment course
- Complete interview process with unit director
- Letter from school verifying the Physical Assessment course has been successfully completed
