Your role with us
As a network administrator II at Salem Health, you will be responsible for maintaining the stability and security of our healthcare network, operating and configuring core network equipment, and troubleshooting complex issues to ensure seamless communication and data exchange across our organization. You will collaborate with teams to drive process improvements, integrate new systems, and provide expert guidance to technicians, all while ensuring the reliable operation of our network infrastructure. This role requires strong technical skills in networking, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities to support our mission of delivering high-quality patient care.
What you'll do
- Operates and configures the core network equipment, ensuring high availability and performance of our network infrastructure.
- Evaluates and resolves service-affecting issues impacting internal and external customers, providing timely solutions; fulfills user requests, addressing technical issues and supporting business operations.
- Assists in integrating new software and communications systems into the existing SH network, ensuring seamless interoperability and minimal disruption to services.
- Collaborates across teams and departments to resolve issues and drive process improvement; fosters a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Serves as an escalation point for technicians, providing expert guidance and support; works with vendors to onboard new systems or maintain existing systems, aligning with organizational goals.
- Participates in project work as assigned, contributing to strategic initiatives and driving innovation within the IS department.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree; or eight years of relevant work experience (no degree required, where relevant experience can substitute for formal education).
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) within 12 months of hire.
- Minimum five years of network experience in large, enterprise environment.
Additional information
- A strong foundation in network infrastructure management is essential, with expertise in integrated lifecycle operations across Cisco networks, utilizing tools such as network management software to drive efficiency and reliability.
- Network performance and security are enhanced by skills in TCP/IP Networking, routing protocols, and configuring devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless controllers, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues using session level debugging, packet/protocol analyzers, and other diagnostic tools.
- Effective collaboration across teams and departments is critical, requiring the ability to articulate ideas, negotiate resolutions, and drive results, with knowledge of VOIP technologies being a valuable asset in this role.
