Your role with us
The contract analyst at Salem Health plays a critical role in managing service agreements, contracts, and relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders, ensuring compliance and optimizing outcomes. This position requires strong analytical and communication skills to negotiate contracts, facilitate bid processes, and provide consultative services to internal customers. The contract analyst will work closely with various departments to identify business needs and ensure seamless contract management.
What you'll do
- Review and negotiate service agreements using best practice guidelines and input from regulatory and general counsel, consulting with end-user departments to identify relevant business terms and optimize contracts and outcomes.
- Manage the contract lifecycle, including issuing purchase orders, receiving invoices and credit memos, and processing rebate checks, as well as maintaining accurate and up-to-date contract records and ensuring timely renewal notices.
- Facilitate formal bid processes, including planning, scheduling, and document creation for RFP-related activities, and activate and renew Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) contracts, serving as the liaison between GPOs and PeaceHealth.
- Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of information systems supporting contract management, ensuring accurate and timely availability of contract and pricing data, and provide consultative and liaison services to internal customers, educating and informing them on contractual needs and issues.
- Regularly monitor vendor performance, taking action as needed, and participate in supplier meetings to provide feedback on contractual performance.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare, business administration, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience where each year of education equates to two years of experience (four years of experience will be substituted for an associate's degree and eight years of experience will be substituted for a bachelor's degree).
- Minimum of three years experience in contracting, purchasing, legal, or related field.
Additional information
- Candidates will excel by leveraging their knowledge of supply chain & Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) analytical tools and contracts.
- A strong understanding of regulatory terms, HIPAA terminology, and general legal terms and conditions is essential for this role.
- The ability to collect, interpret, communicate, and present information in a clear and concise manner is critical for success in this position.
