What you'll do
- Supports the nurse manager by supervising the unit when needed, leading elements of staff meetings and ensuring effective communication of organizational goals and updates.
- Promotes patient- and family-centered care through daily rounding, service recovery, and consistent efforts to improve satisfaction scores.
- Oversees compliance with patient safety goals, policies and audits; follows up on safety alerts; and ensures a clean, safe and well-equipped environment.
- Coordinates staff scheduling and assignments to match skills and acuity, manages productivity and overtime and monitors timecard accuracy and budget alignment.
- Engages in quality and performance improvement initiatives, participates in hospital committees/projects and ensures evidence-based best practices are implemented.
- Conducts staff rounding, performance coaching, recognition and appraisals; supports onboarding, education and professional certification.
- Promotes ethical decision making and fosters awareness of individual and cultural differences in all aspects of care and teamwork.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor of Science – Nursing (BSN) – Consideration will be given to ADN nurse if agree to complete BSN or Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) within three years of hire into the position. Must sign agreement regarding BSN completion. Must obtain BSN within the three years to remain in the ANM position.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Registered Nurse – Current unencumbered license to practice nursing as a Registered Nurse in the State of Oregon.
- Two years acute care RN experience.
Additional information
- Charge RN experience desired.
- Certification in specialty or management preferred.
