Your role with us
We are seeking a dedicated and collaborative anesthesiologist to join our dynamic team of providers. In this role, you will deliver safe, high-quality anesthesia care across a wide range of surgical specialties, including trauma, general surgery, neurosurgery, orthopedics, OB/GYN, pediatrics, and cardiothoracic procedures. You will work closely with certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs) in a team-based model, supporting a culture of patient-centered care and continuous improvement. The position includes call responsibilities and offers a variable schedule to accommodate patient and departmental needs.
Anesthesia Department
Our anesthesia department at Salem Hospital is a collaborative and high-performing team committed to delivering exceptional care in a supportive environment. The department manages a diverse surgical case mix across multiple specialty areas, providing opportunities for professional growth and skill development. Our team works alongside experienced CRNAs and surgical staff, ensuring seamless perioperative care for patients throughout the Salem community.
What you'll do
- Provide anesthesia care for patients across a wide range of surgical specialties, including trauma, general, orthopedic, neurosurgery, cardiothoracic, OB/GYN, and pediatrics.
- Collaborate with certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs) and surgical teams to deliver safe, high-quality, patient-centered care.
- Manage preoperative assessment, intraoperative management, and postoperative care for patients.
- Participate in departmental call rotation to support 24/7 surgical coverage.
- Maintain compliance with all state, hospital, and specialty-specific guidelines for anesthesia care.
- Engage in continuous professional development and adhere to Maintenance of Certification in Anesthesiology (MOCA) requirements.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and operational efficiencies within the department.
Required qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited program.
- Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Anesthesiology through the American Board of Anesthesiology or the American Osteopathic Board of Anesthesiology.
- Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Oregon.
- Demonstrated experience performing a minimum of 500 anesthesiology cases in the past 24 months.
- Compliance with the American Board of Anesthesiology Maintenance of Certification (MOCA) program.
Additional information
- Physician Recognition Award from the American Medical Association or completion of 100 hours of continuing medical education (CME) over two years preferred, with at least 40 hours in Category 1 ACCME.
- Preference given to candidates with at least 50 percent of CME hours in primary specialty.
