Special Inspector

Our experienced and highly qualified staff of engineers, geologists, environmental assessors, scientists and construction inspection professionals brings a responsive team-oriented approach to project management. Our services are offered throughout California and the Western United States.

We are looking for an experienced Special Inspector for our Rancho Cucamonga, California office. The ideal candidate will have experience and should be able to perform routine field tests and inspections on construction materials (concrete, masonry, soils, asphaltic concrete, steel, etc.) for the purpose of verifying conformance to construction plans and specifications. We are seeking a highly motivated inspector who is capable of handling complex projects and making competent field decisions. This position will require travel in Southern California.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Including the following (other duties may be assigned):

·        Conduct special inspections for construction projects.

·        Perform field samplings, inspection, and analysis.

·        Perform field test using specialized instruments and field test equipment.

·        Ensure testing, sampling, or inspection is performed consistent with guidelines and proper standard of care. 

·        Prepare daily reports and data sheets.

·        Maintaining cordial relationships with coworkers, clients, and contractors.

Required Certifications (or the ability to obtain within 90 days)

·        ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade I

·        ICC Reinforced Concrete Special Inspector

·        ICC Structural Masonry Special Inspector

Additional Preferred Certifications

·        ICC Structural Steel and Bolting Inspector

·        ICC Structural Welding Inspector

·        ICC Spray Applied Fireproofing Special Inspector

·        ICC Prestressed Concrete Special Inspector

·        AWS Certified Welding Inspector

·        ACI Post-Installed Anchor Installation Inspector

·        DSA Masonry Inspector

·        DSA Shotcrete Inspector

Requirements

·        Minimum of 2-3 years of construction materials testing experience.

·        Must keep required certifications current.

·        Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required. 

·        English speaking, reading and writing required.

·        Knowledge of MS Office including Word and Excel preferred.
