Role: Administration and engagement in research, studies, reporting and assessment for the benefit of the college including designs of studies, data collection and integrity, strategic and program planning, accreditation, analysis and reporting.

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

· Organizes and directs operations and activities involved in the review, analysis, interpretation and reporting of a variety of data and information required by supervisory bodies (MSCHE, NJ, USG, IPEDS, etc.) and/or used in assessing institutional effectiveness, college planning, accreditation, decision making, outcomes assessment and program review.

· Ensures that college data is collected accurately, used appropriately and meaningfully, analyzed rigorously and shared with key stakeholders to make data-driven and/or evidenced based decisions.

· Leads the establishment of department prioritizations for ad-hoc projects, programming and report development requests and for support and development needed for institutional data integration design, development and support working in conjunction with Senior Staff and divisional/department leaders.

· Ensures timely and accurate data is available for internal decision making and reporting as well as external reporting requirements and compliance. Oversees the college’s response to the Annual Institutional Update (AIU) for MSCHE accreditation as well as other MSCHE requirements.

· Monitors changes/trends in external environment (regulatory, political, higher-ed, economic, etc.) and determines resulting implications for Institutional Effectiveness and positions the college for responsiveness.

· Promotes creativity and innovation in the development of research projects and services within the Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness.

· Facilitates the development, maintenance and reporting with regard to key performance indicators developed in conjunction with Senior Staff.

· Provides supervision and administrative function for the Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness.

· Demonstrates leadership and management skills, a capacity to work and communicate with multiple stakeholders and perspectives to collaboratively address complex data and analysis needs.

· Skilled in working with senior leadership, demonstrating integrity, credibility, sound judgement and able to translate (and present) data analysis, research and results into usable information for decision making and policy analysis

· Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience  Minimum of 3-5 years in higher education setting with applicable relevant experience to include exposure to assessment, planning, administration, supervision, analysis.

Education  Master’s degree

Interpersonal Skills  Ability to work effectively with faculty, administrators, staff and external constituencies.

Technical Skills  Working knowledge of current and emerging computer hardware and software, including relevant ERP systems and all Microsoft Office products.

Other Skills  Effective interpersonal and communication skills. Strong analytical and planning skills and demonstrated knowledge of statistical applications. Must be proficient in Microsoft office, using the Internet for research and have the ability to use the college’s data management system.

Physical Requirements  The work is mostly sedentary; however, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items, driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

Work Environment  Regular exposure to favorable conditions such as those found in a normal office.
