Position Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Sr. Quality Engineer to join our

Arlington team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring that our

products, particularly those for the automotive and electronics manufacturing services

(EMS) sectors, meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. You will provide

technical leadership, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and lead a team of

quality professionals to achieve excellence in all aspects of quality management

system.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Works with and supports the Quality Manager in the development of QA compliance objectives and ensures that targets are achieved.
  • Team Leadership & Development:
    1.  Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Quality Engineers and Technicians.
    2.  Assign tasks, set performance goals, and conduct performance reviews.
    3. Foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the team and across the organization.
  • Quality Systems Management:
    1. Oversee the site's compliance ISO 9001 standards and support improving the QMS processes and documentation.
    2. Lead internal audits and support participation in external audits (including customers and 3rd party audits).
    3. Drive the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process for new product introductions (NPI).
    4. Develop and maintain Control Plans, FMEAs (DFMEA/PFMEA), and Process Flows.
    5.  Production Quality Assurance:
      1. Serve as the subject matter expert on Manual, Semi-Automatic and Automatic assemblies, ensuring adherence to the quality requirements across production.
    6. Implement and monitor Statistical Process Control (SPC) to achieve process stability and capability.
    7. Lead the containment activities, failures investigation, and root cause analysis for internal and external quality issues (e.g., 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone).
    8. Champion and participant in the running MRB process (Material Review Board) and SCRAP reduction plan for SMA products.

 

  • Customer Interface:
  1. Act as the primary quality contact for key customers.
  2. Manage customer complaints, lead the 8D process, and ensure timely and effective closure.
  3. Prepare and present NPI Dashboards, performance results and reports to customers and management.

 

  • Continuous Improvement:
    1. Utilize Lean Six Sigma methodologies (DMAIC, PDCA) to reduce defects, improve yield and enhance process efficiency.
    2. Analyze quality data (e.g., DPPM, FPY, FTY, OEE) to identify trends and lead

projects to address them.

 

  Qualifications & Experience

  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience:
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in a Quality Engineering role.
  • Must have direct experience in either the automotive industry (Tier 1 or Tier 2 supplier) or within a high-volume Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) environment.
  • Proven experience leading and developing a technical team.
  • Technical Knowledge:
  • Strong experience in Manufacturing industry with Surface Mount Technology and Automated Assembly processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001, and core quality tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plan, MSA, SPC).
  • Strong expertise in root cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies (8D, 5-Why, etc.).
  • Experience with automotive customer-specific requirements is a plus.
  • Green belt or Black belt Six Sigma certification is a significant plus.

Salary : $90,000 - $115,000
