Job Summary:
The AV Field Engineer will be responsible for providing systems commissioning, configuration, testing, diagnostics and troubleshooting of networked AV systems. The successful candidate should have a strong combination of field as well as engineering skills, as well as a desire to work closely with our customers and their technical teams to help bring installed system designs to reality and find solutions to technical challenges encountered in the field.
Responsibilities:
- Review and interpret AV system drawings and documentation
- Perform AV field engineering and commissioning tasks including audio, video, control and broadcast system setup and configuration
- Perform troubleshooting and diagnostics of advanced AV systems including AV networking platforms, DSPs, control systems and general AV equipment.
- Work closely with our client and engineering team to identify technical challenges and prioritize efforts to resolve problems, and engineer temporary and permanent solutions.
- Work closely with our engineering and installation teams, as well as third party contractors, for the development and implementation of the proposed technical solutions
- Communicate with the installation and engineering teams, as well as the customer’s technical team, in a timely fashion to ensure the project adheres to schedule
Qualifications and Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in technical AV roles with direct experience in field engineering and system diagnostics tasks, or related activities
- Strong computer skills, including experience in the configuration of networked AV systems, such as the configuration of network parameters and loading of audio DSP and control system configuration files is, preferred
- Willing to obtain a CTS-I certification within 1 year of employment
- Ability to work effectively within a team
- This is a customer-facing position, and therefore, strong communication skills, and a customer service-focused personality are essential
- This position will require traveling to client sites for field work with most travel to locations in New York City and Washington, DC, but occasional travel to other cities through the country. Flexibility for travel will be a key component of this position.
- While we make an effort to operate during regular business hours, the candidate must be willing and able to work off-hours occasionally in order to meet a customer’s schedule

Travel: Up to 10 - 35%
Compensation & Benefits:
The expected base salary range for this role is $85,000 - $115,000 USD per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and location.
