What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Clerk position at Salaried/Skilled Trades Careers at NSG Group?
Essential Functions:
- Performing physical and chemical testing of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products to ensure they meet quality specifications.
- Gathering data on quality issues, analyzing results, and identifying trends.
- Maintaining records of inspections, tests and findings, and reporting any deviations from quality standards.
- Support the Quality Management System through Document Control activities to maintain all the documents updated.
- Suggesting and implementing improvements to production processes to enhance quality and reduce defects.
- Ensuring that testing equipment is calibrated and maintained properly.
- Participating in training new employees on quality procedures and standards
- Be able to support under emergencies with chemical analysis as a needed basis. This can be on weekends and/or holidays
- Build relationships with hourly and salary teammates to maintain open communication with production to keep updated on any issues affecting production or customers.
- Share information throughout the facility pertaining to customer feedback and interaction in an effort to continually improve the internal system and eliminate customer concerns.
- Act as a resource to the quality and production department on quality specifications, quality testing, methods, etc.
- Adherence to NSG/Pilkington Standards of Business Conduct and its Values and Principles
- Other duties as assigned by manager
