Purpose:
The Hot End Lead Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for leading a team of maintenance personnel in the HE area of the facility. The Hot End Lead Maintenance Supervisor will ensure the availability and reliability of equipment in their sector while optimizing maintenance costs and energy in a continuous improvement approach. This will allow Operations to achieve its goals of Safety, Quality, Cost, and Production.
Essential Functions:
- Ensure 10 Key Safety Leadership Behaviors, all safety rules, policies and procedures are met. Maintain a safe working environment.
- Lead and present monthly safety meetings with all the HE maintenance crew, detailing any incidents/accidents that may have occurred during that month.
- Responsible for PM Execution, unplanned event response, part management/availability and vendor management
- Ensure that all personnel reporting to this position carry on with their responsibilities in a safe and professional manner.
- Ensure personnel in this area are kept at the proper competency level through development, apprenticeship, coaching, etc.
- Ensure employees are provided appropriate recognition, guidance, or counseling on matters related to job performance and absenteeism.
- Maintain constructive and candid relationships by addressing opportunities in a timely manner.
- On shift review of critical equipment areas that service the entire plant
- Implement the maintenance safety program segments (ie. Audits, non-stock supply & permits)
- Ensure 5S standards in the maintenance area.
- Ensure communication and root cause identification for on shift response items.
- Verify personnel schedules are kept up to date in Kronos system.
- Ensure CMMS work order completion by personnel and audit of records.
- Utilize contractors as and when required for tasks beyond maintenance resources.
- Integrate with production operations supervisors on shift for implementation alignment.
- Perform actions and recommendations to overcome technical downtime problems, to reduce waste and improve team performance.
- Lead and manage the maintenance department toward a total preventive maintenance program to enhance link between maintenance and production.

Qualifications Required:
- Minimum 2 years maintenance supervisory experience
- Minimum 2-year technical degree in Electrical/Industrial/Mechanical Technology from an accredited program or equivalent work experience
- Computer and software proficiency – including strong knowledge of MS Office systems.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in teams, multi-task, and take leadership responsibility for various assigned projects.
- Excellent writing skills for reports, presentations, policies, procedures, and specifications.
- Relocation will not be offered for this position.
Qualifications Desired:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field with equivalent experience.
- Exposure to Six Sigma (Green Belt).
- Previous glass experience
- Engineering/Manufacturing experience
