Position Objective
The Front Drive staff play a critical role in the arrival and departure experience. As the first point of contact for hotel guests and patrons, the Valet Attendant sets the tone for the entire visit. Working within the Guest Services Department, this position ensures seamless, welcoming, and professional front-of-house experience.
Essential Job Functions
- Greeting and assist all arriving and departing guests, including valet parking, group transportation, driving directions, and general guest requests
- Offer assistance to guests arriving by foot, bicycle, or vehicle
- Retrieve guest and patron vehicles promptly and safely
- Coordinate with the front drive and guest services team to ensure smooth operations
- Transport guests safely within a 2-mile radius of the hotel and, on special occasions, to and from the airport
- Assist guests with luggage and address any questions or concerns during transportation
- Inspect and maintain hotel vehicles to ensure cleanliness, fuel levels, and operational readiness in accordance with HB standards
- Log vehicle mileage at the beginning and end of each shift and report any mechanical issues
- Maintain accurate logs of all guest transportation and trips
- Provide estimated times of arrival (ETAs) and communicate using hands-free devices
- Follow all traffic laws and operate vehicles in a safe and responsible manner
Education & Experience
- High school diploma required; college degree in hospitality preferred
- Previous hotel or resort experience preferred, especially in a luxury environment
Requirements
- Ability to drive all types of vehicles, including manual and automatic transmissions
- Prior guest services or valet experience preferred
- Valid South Carolina driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays, based on guest nee
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Physical Demands
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time while providing quick and efficient vehicle retrieval
- Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with loading, unloading, and transporting guest luggage throughout most of the shift
- Ability to work outdoors in varying seasonal temperatures and weather conditions
- Ability to operate a wide variety of vehicles and understand vehicle features and amenities
- Must be at least 21 years of age with a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
