Early Head Start Child Care Partnerships, part of SAL Community Services, is the Quad Cities areas leading provider of early childhood care and education. We provide a safe, secure and supportive environment centered on how playing can charge the mind of the children we care for.
The Mentor Coach provides quality improvement support coaching and mentoring to the teaching staff and contracted partners/Home Child Care Network (HCCN) providers to ensure a high-quality early education learning environment to children to provide the direction needed to successfully implement the selected curricula and teaching practices which support school readiness and improved child outcomes. The purpose of the Mentor Coach is to support and expand early educator’s knowledge on early education childhood best practices through individualized mentoring, training, and technical assistance. Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. A full list of job responsibilities will be provided prior to an interview. Education And Experience
Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with additional infant/toddler training. A minimum of one-year experience working with adult learners. Preferred: At least three years of experience in an infant/toddler setting and/or leadership experience in meeting the needs of all children including those at risk, special needs, and/or culturally diverse populations. Educational experience and training in Early Brain Development, Infant Mental Health, Responsive Caregiving, and/or Reflective Supervision.

The purpose of the Mentor Coach is to support and expand early educator’s knowledge on early education childhood best practices through individualized mentoring, training, and technical assistance. You will:
- Develop and maintain positive, supportive relationships with childcare staff and contracted partners for the purpose of supporting staff growth through the mentoring/coaching process.
- Using the Practice Based Coaching Model, develop individual mentor coaching plans, with specific goals and areas for growth identified which are based on classroom and teacher observations and provide coaching/mentoring on a monthly basis.
- Coach and support teaching staff on meeting their professional development goals.
- Follow-up on individual child development staff/partners/HCCN requests for mentor coach services and document nature of training provided.
- Conduct bi-weekly, one-on-one reflection sessions with teaching staff engaged in the Apprenticeship project.
- Collaborate with EHS and Smart Start Apprenticeship Program to attract and recruit apprentices, ensuring program viability and participation.
