Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, and relay orders efficiently to the kitchen
- Provide detailed menu descriptions, recommend specials, and upsell items to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of food handling, sanitation, and safety protocols
- Check in with guests during their meal to ensure satisfaction, address any concerns promptly, and manage guest relations effectively
- Clear tables efficiently by bussing and resetting for new guests while maintaining cleanliness standards in dining areas
- Handle cash transactions accurately through cashiering systems and process payments securely using POS terminals like OpenTable or similar platforms
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, especially within fine dining or nightlife settings such as nightclubs or upscale restaurants
- Strong knowledge of POS systems including Aloha POS, Micros POS, and cashiering procedures
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, energetic attitude that fosters guest loyalty
- Ability to manage time effectively during busy shifts while multitasking seamlessly between serving, bussing, and assisting colleagues
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, food handling procedures, and basic math for accurate bill calculation
- Experience with food preparation or kitchen operations is a plus for better understanding of menu items and timing
- Familiarity with reservation platforms like OpenTable and upselling techniques to maximize sales opportunities
