Overview
We are seeking a friendly, professional Host to join our team and create a welcoming environment for our guests. The ideal candidate will have experience in food service and hospitality, possess excellent communication skills, and demonstrate a passion for providing exceptional guest experiences. This role is vital in ensuring smooth operations at the front of the house, managing guest flow, and maintaining a positive atmosphere. Prior experience with restaurant POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is preferred, along with hotel or guest services background.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage wait times efficiently
- Escort guests to tables and ensure seating arrangements meet their needs
- Manage reservations and waitlists using POS systems like Aloha or Micros
- Maintain clear communication with kitchen staff and servers regarding guest needs
- Handle guest inquiries courteously via phone and in person, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the host station and waiting area
- Support guest relations by providing information about menu items, specials, and restaurant policies
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a seamless dining experience for all guests
Requirements
- Previous host/host experience preferred, especially within restaurant or hospitality settings
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Experience with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus
- Background in food service, serving, or hotel guest services is advantageous
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Professional appearance and demeanor with good phone etiquette
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed
