Hospital Pharmacy Technician


Position Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to support inpatient pharmacy operations at Sakakawea Medical Center. This role focuses on safe and efficient medication preparation, distribution, and inventory management within a hospital environment. The technician will work under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist and collaborate with both clinical and non-clinical departments such as nursing, purchasing, and accounts payable.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepare, label, and unit dose inpatient medications in accordance with hospital protocols
  • Restock and maintain automated dispensing cabinets (Omnicell) in patient care areas
  • Conduct inventory checks and assist with receiving and stocking medications
  • Assists with billing related functions
  • Maintain accurate documentation and comply with regulatory and safety standards
  • Communicate effectively with nursing and other departments regarding medication needs

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Active Pharmacy Technician license (as required by ND state regulations)
  • Previous hospital pharmacy experience preferred
  • Familiarity with EMR systems and automated dispensing technology preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a healthcare team

Compensation and Benefits
We are offering a competitive wage, with credit for experience. Benefits are dependent on hours status.
