Job Summary
Sakae Sushi is seeking a skilled Sushi Chef to join our team. This position requires an individual passionate about Japanese cuisine and dedicated to creating high-quality, visually appealing sushi. You’ll be responsible for preparing traditional sushi dishes, ensuring ingredient quality, and maintaining cleanliness in the sushi bar area.
Duties
- Prepare sushi rolls, sashimi, and nigiri according to recipes and customer preferences.
- Maintain freshness and quality of all ingredients.
- Ensure the sushi bar is clean, organized, and stocked with essential items.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to create seasonal specials and new menu items.
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation regulations.
Skills
- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef (3 years preferred).
- Strong knowledge of Japanese cuisine, sushi preparation, and plating techniques.
- Excellent knife skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills and team collaboration.
- Culinary school certification or equivalent training is a plus.
