Affholder Construction has an immediate opportunity for a Dispatcher/Logistics Coordinator to join our tunnel construction team in Austin, TX. This position is responsible for managing the daily logistics of incoming and outgoing vehicles. The ideal candidate will coordinate the scheduling, routing, and delivery of materials to various construction sites while ensuring timely and efficient transportation services. You will work closely with truck drivers, construction site supervisors, and other team members to support the successful execution of construction projects.

Responsibilities:

1. Scheduling and Dispatching:
   1. Plan and schedule daily routes for trucks to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment to construction sites.
   2. Ensure all dispatch instructions are clear and drivers understand delivery details, including timing and safety protocols.
2. Coordination:
   1. Communicate regularly with drivers to monitor their progress and provide updates on any delays, traffic, or route changes.
   2. Coordinate with the construction team to ensure that materials are delivered in alignment with project timelines.
   3. Act as the point of contact between drivers, site supervisors, and clients, providing updates and resolving issues as they arise.
   4. Verify Bill of Lading for accurate delivery of product and quantity
3. Logistics and Route Planning:
   1. Optimize routes to ensure cost-effective and timely deliveries, minimizing fuel consumption and vehicle wear.
   2. Address and resolve any logistical issues that may arise during transit, including weather delays, accidents, or road closures.
   3. Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and safety standards.
4. Customer Service:
   1. Provide excellent customer service by responding to inquiries from clients and addressing any concerns regarding delivery times or material availability.
   2. Resolve issues promptly and professionally, ensuring client satisfaction and timely project progression.
5. Problem-Solving and Decision-Making:
   1. Quickly assess and resolve any issues that may arise, including delivery delays, traffic challenges, or vehicle breakdowns.
   2. Use critical thinking to adjust schedules and reassign deliveries as necessary to keep projects on track.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a dispatcher or in logistics management, preferably in the construction or transportation industry.
• Strong understanding of site requirements and transportation logistics.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to coordinate effectively with diverse teams.
• Ability to handle stressful situations and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Knowledge of local traffic patterns and routes to optimize travel time.
