Saints Mary & Mathias Catholic School is seeking a motivated and dedicated educator to serve as a part-time English Language Learner (ELL) Teacher. Position Overview
This is a part-time position following the school year calendar. Specific hours and scheduling will be determined based on student needs and program requirements.
The ELL Teacher will provide English language instruction and support services to students who qualify for ELL programming. Responsibilities include assessing student language proficiency, developing instructional plans, monitoring student progress, maintaining required documentation, and collaborating with classroom teachers to support student achievement.
The ELL Teacher will work closely with students in individual, small group, and classroom settings to help them develop skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing English while supporting success across all academic areas.
Collaboration is an important part of our school culture. The ELL Teacher will work closely with teachers, administration, families, and support staff to ensure students receive the support necessary to thrive academically and socially.
Qualifications & Skills
- Iowa teaching license required
- ELL endorsement preferred
- Candidates willing to obtain an ELL endorsement may be considered
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Knowledge of language acquisition and instructional strategies for multilingual learners
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and families from diverse backgrounds
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Basic technology skills and willingness to learn school systems
