Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Paint Prepper to join our automotive team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing vehicles for painting, ensuring a smooth and high-quality finish. This role requires a strong attention to detail, mechanical knowledge, and experience with various tools and techniques used in the auto body repair and painting process.
Duties
- Prepare vehicles for painting by cleaning, sanding, and masking areas as needed
- Utilize hand tools and power tools to perform tasks such as buffing and detailing
- Assist in the application of paint using airless paint spraying equipment
- Conduct vehicle maintenance checks to ensure optimal performance during the prep process
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects while maintaining quality standards
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their vehicle needs
- Participate in auto restoration projects as required, demonstrating mechanical knowledge and skills
- Perform heavy lifting as necessary to move parts and equipment safely
Experience
- Previous dealership experience is preferred but not mandatory
- Familiarity with welding, auto body repair, and auto painting techniques is advantageous
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and detailing equipment
- Experience with auto glass installation and repair is a plus
- Knowledge of auto estimating processes will be beneficial
- A background in mechanic work or vehicle maintenance will enhance your candidacy
