Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Teacher at Saint Vincent's Day Home, located in Oakland, CA. The Teacher will be responsible for planning and implementing engaging lessons, creating nurturing learning environments, and fostering child development through effective teaching practices. Additionally, the Teacher will support training initiatives, maintain open communication with families, and collaborate with team members to provide quality education and care for children aged 2 to 6.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Lesson Planning and ability to create structured, age-appropriate learning activities
- Background in Education and Teaching experience with young children aged 2 to 6
- Strong Communication skills and ability to build meaningful relationships with children, families, and team members
- Experience or interest in Training and mentoring staff, supporting professional development and collaboration
- Patience, creativity, and adaptability to engage effectively with children of diverse backgrounds
- Familiarity with Early Childhood Education standards and practices
- Minimum of an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field; a Bachelor's degree is preferred
- Bilingual abilities or experience working in multicultural settings are a plus
