The Difference You’ll Make
- Evaluate the severity and type of wounds of the resident, diagnose appropriate treatments, and develop personalized care plans tailored to each residents need
- Responsible for cleaning wounds and applying suitable dressings, ensuring that wounds are protected from infection and other complications, and promote a safe healing environment
- Monitor the progress of wound healing and document changes in the resident's condition. This includes noting any signs of infection or complications that may arise during treatment
- Educate patients and their caregivers about proper wound care techniques, infection prevention, and importance of following treatment plans
- Evaluating the quality of resident care and resident outcome as they relate to healthcare associate infections
- Collect, prepare, and analyze HAI infection and surveillance data; present infection date and make recommendations for action
- Monitor employee compliance in use of PPE and use of transmission precautions barriers and infection prevention measures; prepare and present educational offerings for the staff and services as recourse to all departments and personnel
- Promote a respectful, compassionate, and person-centered care environment
- Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, and strong customer service in daily practice
Qualifications:
Education Required:
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license or Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing in the State of Ohio
- Relevant certifications in wound care
- Current CPR certification
Experience Preferred:
- At least three years of successful nursing experience in a senior care/skilled care environment; with prior experience in wound care
- Knowledge of legal and regulatory healthcare requirements of a skilled nursing environment
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Working knowledge of Ohio state rules and healthcare regulations
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Must be competent and willing to educate others
- Ability to function independently, demonstrate flexibility
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to collaborate with care team members
- Ability to maintain regular attendance and professional work standards
- Ability to comply with all federal, state, and local health regulations, including required post-offer screenings
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation
