Saint Therese Activities Assistant Volunteers provide support and assistance for Saint Therese staff when providing therapeutic recreation activities for Saint Therese residents. Therapeutic recreation activities help Saint Therese residents develop and use their leisure in ways that enhance their health, functional abilities, independence and quality of life.
Responsibilities

Saint Therese Activities Assistant Volunteers provide support and assistance for Saint Therese staff when providing therapeutic recreation activities for Saint Therese residents. Therapeutic recreation activities help Saint Therese residents develop and use their leisure in ways that enhance their health, functional abilities, independence and quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the set-up and preparation of space and materials for planned activity for residents, such as games, crafts, social groups and parties.
- Assist residents in activity participation.
- Assist with clean up after the activity, including using disinfectant cleanser.
- Have an interest in games, crafts and activities.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Be patient and encourage residents.
- Able to push wheelchairs safely throughout the campus.
- Able to maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA guidelines.
- Able to understand state laws protecting vulnerable adults and reporting mandates.
- Able to follow infection prevention and control procedures to minimize risk of disease transmission and maintain health and safety of residents, staff and volunteers.
