Position Summary
Saint Peter Middle School is seeking a long-term substitute to teach Physical Education for grades 5 and 6. The substitute will provide safe, engaging, standards-based instruction that helps students build physical skills, fitness, and teamwork. This position reports to the Building Principal.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and teach physical education lessons aligned with state standards
- Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive gym environment
- Manage student behavior and promote sportsmanship and respect
- Assess student progress and keep accurate grade and attendance records
- Follow IEPs, 504 plans, and other student support plans
- Communicate with families and collaborate with staff
- Supervise students during assigned duties
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and licensure in Physical Education
- Experience teaching middle school or physical education
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Familiarity with IDEA, Section 504, FERPA, and mandatory reporting
- Proficiency with Google Workspace and student information systems
Salary : $34 - $43
