The Graduate School of Health and Human Services strives to bring this mission to life through getting to know our students as individuals, embedding service into our courses, and providing real-world experiences to develop students as future health and human services leaders.
Job Summary
Reporting to the Program Director for the Master's of Science in Clinical Psychology, based in the Catholic Christian Meta Model of the Human Person, the core faculty member is responsible for teaching courses, advising students, and contributing to program development activities and university service. In addition, the core faculty member is expected to develop a research/scholarly agenda that leads to clear outcomes (e.g., professional presentations, peer-reviewed journal articles) and to include students in the scholarship process.
Location: Winona Campus with Remote teaching in online courses (with occasional on-ground residencies)
Salary Range: 60,000-70,000

- Have a demonstrated basic proficiency and interest in educational technology such as Canvas.
- Have excellent communication, organizational, and multi-tasking skills with proven ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Have an understanding of online education and how to effectively engage students to maximize their online learning experience.
- Have professional decorum and ethical decision-making.
- Have a demonstrated commitment to the profession and education of clinical psychology, accreditation standards, and to serving marginalized populations
Essential Knowledge & Skills
- Effective graduate-level teaching using various pedagogical approaches, with particular emphasis on fostering positive student-faculty relationships.
- Diligent student advising, with the capability of considering multiple factors in guidance to students that respects their agency and program requirements.
- Understanding of scholarship and research in professional psychology.
- Ability to integrate Catholic faith and psychological science in a meaningful, coherent manner within a clinical psychology program.
- Experience with online education platforms and technology, with an ability to innovate and adapt to new educational tools as well as capacity to enhance student engagement and community through distance learning.
Teaching Responsibilities:
- Maintain active course load of six to seven course during an academic year consistent with rank (fall, spring, summer).
- Course load and credits is negotiable based on other developmental needs and factors.
University Responsibilities:
- Participate in university service such as committees, faculty development, and accreditation, and commencements
- Attend program faculty meetings, serve on program committees, and contribute to program development activities such as accreditation
- Assist in student recruitment and admissions events and activities
- Serve as liaison between program and campus departments at the Winona, MN campus with particular focus on undergraduate psychology department and Campus Ministry
Experience and Education Requirements
The ideal candidate will have the following credentials and experience:
- Doctorate degree: PhD or PsyD in Clinical Psychology or Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited program and licensed or license eligible (doctorate-level psychology) in state of residence.
- Theological background or demonstrated knowledge of integrating Catholic teachings within psychological scholarship, practice, or other professional activities. Familiarity with the Catholic Christian Meta Model of the Human Person is preferred.
- Experience teaching or practicing in the field of psychology with a focus on integrating faith and clinical practice.
Physical Demands
- Light work. Light work involves lifting no more than 20 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds. Even though the weight lifted may be very little, a job is in this category when it requires a good deal of walking or standing, or when it involves sitting most of the time with some pushing and pulling of arm or leg controls. To be considered capable of performing a full or wide range of light work, you must have the ability to do substantially all of these activities.
