Job Description:
Saint Joseph School is seeking a creative, caring and enthusiastic substitute classroom teacher starting in October of the 2026-2027 school year. This teacher will be covering for a leave from October - December. Ideal candidates will effectively manage and establish a faith filled classroom environment that supports the development of the mind, body, and spirit of all students. Candidates should be proficient in the delivery and planning of early elementary concepts and competencies including literacy, writing, math, science, and social emotional learning. Essential Functions:
- demonstrate effective planning skills to implement rigorous standard aligned grade-level curricula
- Communicate with parents about students’ academic and behavioral growth progress
- be well-versed in meeting the needs of all learners with the ability to adapt instruction accordingly
- create a classroom environment that is nurturing, compassionate, and structured to support the needs of all learners practicing positive, consistent discipline in classroom management
- effectively collaborate with staff and maintains confidentiality regarding school matters
- actively work to build a classroom environment that embodies the values of Catholic faith-based education
