What are the responsibilities and job description for the After School Program Staff position at Saint Joseph School?
Searching for after school workers to work with our amazing kids! Hours are 3:00-5:30 in a Pre-K 2 year old, Pre-K 3 year old & Pre-K 4 year old position, and 3:00-6:00 in the Kindergarten-8th Grade position. Looking for candidates for both groups. Can apply for a 5 day a week position, or less. MUST be able to work at least 3 days a week, including Fridays! Must be 21 to work with the PK group, 18 for the K-8 Group. Option for additional hours on early dismissal days etc if wanted. Positions to start at the beginning of August 2026. Would make an excellent job for a college student or someone just needing a few hours a week work!
Basic Duties.
- Provide care and support to children in school setting
- Assist with daily afternoon activities
- Create a safe and nurturing environment for children to thrive in
- Monitor and supervise children to ensure their safety at all times
- Maintain accurate records of incidences during aftercare hours
-Playing & engaging with kids while providing a safe atmosphere for them
Requirements
- Experience working with children in a professional setting
- Knowledge of childhood development and age-appropriate activities
- Ability to provide academic homework support to students
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, compassion, and a genuine love for working with children
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities effectively
- Ability to pass a background check upon hiring
- Willingness to complete paid hours of required training upon hiring.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules or situations
-Promptness and Accountibility is a must!
