What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preschool Teacher position at Saint Joseph School - Needham?
In preschool, our goal is to foster creativity, independence, and decision-making to raise confident, creative, and compassionate students. As lead teacher, you will promote early literacy skills and language proficiency in the context of research-based and field-tested content in ELA, math, science, and social studies. You will weave mathematical learning into preschool students’ daily activities. You will incorporate purposeful play in the activities for the day and focus on the academic, social, physical, and emotional well-being of students to prepare them for robust learning in Pre-K and Kindergarten.
Responsibilities
•Responsible for the overall supervision of students in your classroom.
•Implement approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedule that support Saint Joseph School’s curriculum and programming.

oClassroom management
oDelivery of instruction
oMonitoring, assessment, and follow-up
oProfessional responsibilities
•Promote a classroom environment that is focused on individualized and small group instruction and student learning.
•Conduct ongoing student assessments, and work with students to provide a differentiated learning experience.
•Collaborate with other faculty members, especially within the Early Childhood Building, to evaluate and assess curriculum and participate in faculty meetings and committees.
•Observe all rules and regulations pertaining to the health, safety, and care of children
•Provide an organized, energetic and engaging classroom that encourages creativity, exploration, and decision-making by the children.
Location & Commitments
•Full-time, permanent position.
•40 hours a week, 7:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Monday – Friday.
