Saint Josephs College of Maine is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled
individual for the full-time position of **IT Systems and Support
Engineer**.
In this pivotal role, you will be a cornerstone of our Information
Technology Team and technical operations, ensuring the stability,
performance, and security of the Colleges IT infrastructure. You will be
responsible for providing expert-level technical support to our faculty,
staff, and students, while also contributing to the administration and
maintenance of our core systems and network. This position is ideal for
a proactive problem-solver who thrives on technical challenges in a
fast-paced environment and is committed to delivering exceptional
service in a dynamic academic environment.
Minimum Education/Experience/Qualifications

No supervisory responsibilities. General office hours are Mon-Fri

on-site meetings, training, as well as work during peak periods, that
will include evenings and occasional weekend hours in the event of
infrastructure outage. This job is 100% onsite.

- A combination of at least 5 years of progressive experience and
educational or service-oriented environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in supporting end-users and administering
Service Provider (MSP) or similarly fast-paced setting is highly
desirable.
- Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a
- Professional certifications such as CompTIA A /Network , Microsoft
Foundation are a significant asset.
- Strong understanding of computer hardware, operating systems
- Familiarity with network fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP,
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with educational technology platforms and learning
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and experience
- Familiarity with scripting or automation tools to streamline IT
- Previous experience working in an academic institution or similar

- Networking: Advanced knowledge of network troubleshooting and core

- Systems Management: Hands-on experience with Active Directory/LDAP,
ID/Azure AD/GWS) as well as management of collaboration platforms
(365/GWS)
- Automation: Practical experience with AI, scripting languages,
and or RMM automation polices.
- IT Tools: High proficiency with IT Service Management (ITSM)
Remote Access Tools (RAT).
- Endpoint Management: Strong working experience with MDM solutions
- Must demonstrate teamwork skills and a willingness to help others
- Possess a positive attitude to foster a cohesive working environment
